To maximize your HDTV viewing experience, it is very important to use the correct connections. Below we have listed those connections that you are most likely to encounter when hooking up your system. Use the information provided to help make the best choices with your system hookup.

Remember: A digital connection between your source components and your display device is your first choice connection whenever available. Digital connections (HDMI or DVI) allow for uncompressed communication between components without the degradation caused by multiple digital/analog conversions.

  CONNECTION TYPES

HDMI
High-Definition Multimedia Interface
HDMI™ stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. Previous video standards (composite, S, component, RGB) transmit an analog signal. When two digital devices are connected with HDMI, the digital signal stays clearer and noise free. HDMI also allows for multi-channel surround sound and high definition video to be carried all in a single digital connection. The WireLogic™ HDMI cable (#1) supplied should be your first choice connection wherever HDMI connections are available. One WireLogic HDMI cable is provided in this kit.

DVI
Digital Video Interface
DVI™ stands for Digital Video Interface. DVI cables can transmit high definition digital video signals from source to display. When one of your components is equipped with an HDMI socket and the other is equipped with a DVI socket, use the supplied HDMI to DVI adapter (#2), along with the HDMI cable (#1) to easily make this connection. Please note that DVI will not pass an audio signal. One WireLogic™ HDMI/DVI adapter is provided in this kit.

COMPONENT VIDEO
If an HDMI (or DVI) connection is not available, then use component video to connect to your HD source. WireLogic™ component video cables (#3) use silver-plated center conductors to provide superior picture quality. Connect the green, blue and red RCA connectors to the corresponding colored component input jacks of your HDTV monitor control box. Two sets of WireLogic component video cables are provided in this kit.

DIGITAL AUDIO
WireLogic™ digital audio cables (#4) provide the highest quality audio performance for surround sound home theater systems. Connect the RCA connector to the corresponding coax digital audio input jack of your HDTV or audio surround sound receiver. One WireLogic digital audio cable is included in this kit.

ANALOG AUDIO
WireLogic™ analog audio cables (#5) provide uncompromised audio clarity for stereo reproduction. The solid core Long-Grain Copper used in these cables results in lower distortion, higher quality analog audio signal transfer. Connect the red and white RCA connectors to the corresponding colored analog audio input jacks of your HDTV monitor or control box. Two sets of WireLogic analog audio cables are provided in this kit.

AV CABLE (VCR, DVR some DVD, Camcorders...)

Most standard VCRs, DVRs, some DVDs, and Camcorders include a composite video output and two analog audio outputs. WireLogic™ provides an elegant, high quality solution for this connection. The WireLogic VCR cable (#6) contains a silver-plated composite video cable, combined with L/R audio cables made from solid Long-Grain Copper for unsurpassed audio performance. Connect the yellow RCA connector to the corresponding colored composite video input jack of your HDTV monitor or Control Box. Connect the red and white RCA connectors to the corresponding colored analog audio input jacks of your HDTV monitor or control box. One set of WireLogic VCR cables is included in this kit.
